13-day tour

Day 1:

Oran, El-Bahia

Arrival at Oran Ahmed Ben Bella airport in Es Sénia, transfer to hotel. Afternoon stroll around town, visiting the Town Hall and its two lions, the Abdelkader Alloula regional theater, then a stroll along the seafront. Early evening dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 :

Oran

After breakfast, transfer to the chapel and fort of Santa-Cruz (located on the heights of Oran), visit the Spanish quarter, the Bey's palace, the Hassan Pacha mosque (1796) built under the reign of Bey Mohamed El-Kébir. Lunch at the fishery. The afternoon will be devoted to visiting and discovering the old Sidi Houari district, with the restoration of several monuments that are part of the heritage of old Oran. Free time at the end of the day. Dinner in the evening, then overnight stay.

Day 3 :

Flight Oran/Béchar, Taghit (by road)

Transfer to the airport for the ORAN/BECHAR flight, arrival at Béchar airport, stroll around town, then transfer by road to the Taghit oasis (approx. 90 kms from Béchar). Check-in at the tourist residence, traditional lunch. In the afternoon, visit to the Taghit oasis "L'enchanteresse", visit to the old ksar, visit to the palm grove, visit to the valley of the ksours and its rock engravings. Climb a large dune to contemplate a magnificent sunset, then return to Taghit, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 :

Taghit/Beni Abbès Oasis

Transfer to Béni Abbès, an oasis in the "Saoura" valley. Visit of the chapel of Father Charles De Foucauld, visit of the palm grove, visit of the old ksar, visit of the museum and check-in at the Rym hotel, overlooking the palm grove and offering an exceptional panoramic view. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 :

Béni Abbès/Timimoun

After breakfast, back on the road to Timimoun ("The Red Oasis"), crossing several oases including EL-Ouata, Gherzim, Kerzaa, Timoudj, Ouled Khodeir and Gharouine. Lunch/picnic on the dunes or in an oasis.

Arrival in Timimoun, check-in at the tourist complex or hotel. End of day at leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6:

Timimoun (The Red or Flamboyant Oasis)

After breakfast, visit to the palm grove. Lunch time. In the afternoon, visit the nearby ksours and the Ighzer cave, then watch the magnificent sunset from the village of Ouled Saïd. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7:

Timimoun/El Goléa/Ghardaïa

After breakfast, departure for El-Goléa, visit of the town and the chapel of Père Charles De Foucauld, visit of the Père Leclerc museum. Lunch. In the afternoon, back on the road to the ksours, the magnificent sand and earth castles.

Arrive in Ghardaïa and settle into a traditional house (M'Zab) in the heart of the palm grove. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8 :

Ghadaia

After breakfast, visit the market square, the old ksar and the palm grove's underground irrigation system. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the town of Béni-Izguen, the Boulila tower and the auction market. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9:

Ghadaia

Free day to meet and talk with the Mozabite population.

Day 10:

Flight Ghardaïa/Alger

Transfer to Ghardaïa airport for flight to Algiers. Arrival in Algiers, transfer to hotel, free morning. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit of the Casbah (Medina of Algiers), visit of the Basilica Notre Dame d'Afrique, return to the hotel. Dinner in town and overnight stay.

Day 11 :

Tipaza/Christian tomb at Sidi-Rached

After breakfast, drive back to Tipaza and visit the ancient city on the western hill, with its Roman theater, circus and thermal baths (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Visit the many Punic, Roman, Christian and African remains that testify to the rich history of this region. Lunch in Tipaza. On the way back, visit of the Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania, known as the "Tomb of the Christian" or "Tomb of the Roumiya". Return to Algiers. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12 :

Algiers

After breakfast, visit to the Fine Arts Museum. Lunch at the Hamma test garden. In the afternoon, visit Africa's largest botanical garden (32 hectares and over 3,000 different plant species), then free time in Algiers.

Day 13 :

Algiers/France

After breakfast, free morning in Algiers, then transfer to Houari Boumedienne airport and assistance until boarding.
