Description of Erg Admer

Erg Admer is a vast expanse of sand some 100 km long and 20 km wide, located in the wilaya of Illizi in southeastern Algeria. Located to the west of Djanet, it begins in the center of the Tassili n'Ajjer, near Essendilène, and extends southwards to join the Ténéré at the border with Niger. To the east of Erg Admer lies Wadi Teghaghart, home to the magnificent rock engravings of the "weeping cow".
